Steven Smith for Speaker

I have been in the New Hampshire House since 1990. I served one term as a Deputy Speaker. I have seen many Speakers in my time, but the one with the Most Commanding Presence is Steve Smith. When he comes to the Speakers Podium, he is relaxed and sometimes smiling. He deals with disruptions in a friendly manner. An example,” All right, I told that other side that they had to keep order. Now it’s your turn.”  I was impressed with him when he was the Chair of Transportation. He got up to speak on a bill, with no notes, and told us what the bill was about, and why we should support it and what would happen if we did not. Most often he got the winning vote he wanted. He shows the same grasp of the issues and functions as Speaker, and his friendly manner is both disarming and exceptional. Please  support his candidacy for Speaker.  If he is Speaker, we will all be better off. He will keep order in a friendly way and set a mood for harmony.
